NY State of Health Assistor Certification Training - Syracuse

This three-day in-person certification training program covers all of the concepts, policies and practical information that Assistors need to help individuals and families apply for Medicaid, Essential Plan, Child Health Plus, and Qualified Health Plans in NY State of Health, New York State’s Official Health Plan Marketplace. 

     As a result of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Clarify the role of the Assistor in providing education and assistance to consumers in the Marketplace
  • Explore and practice techniques to establish and maintain open communication with consumers
  • Describe the types of insurance available on the Marketplace and their eligibility requirements
  • Explain how to help consumers use the Marketplace to enroll in Insurance Affordability Programs and Qualified Health Plans
